New Authorised Mental Health Practitioners (AMHP)

The first round of training for new AMHP’s since the implementation of the Mental Health Act 2014 was held on the 14 and 15 July 2016 at Gascoyne House.

There were 24 participants from Mental Health services across Western Australia including, Headspace and Corrective Services.

The training was conducted by the Office of the Chief Psychiatrists Principal Officer of Statutory Education, Tim Rolfe and included guest speakers and role play scenarios.

Feedback from participants included ;

  • Thank you this was a wonderful training. The best I had in a long time
  • Thank you for your help and information on the two days, I honestly thought the two days were just awesome. Very thankful to have done it
  • I must say, it was very good, informative, and well run
  • Such a fantastic training opportunity. I can honestly say that this training has been the first of my life where I have stayed completely engaged for the entirety.
